This event follows the same swim and bike route as the Outlaw Half Nottingham Triathlon. However, you will head to the finish after your bike leg. This will be a different finish to the main grandstand finish due to the race route logistics.
The swim takes place in the Regatta Lake at the National Water Sports Centre with a time trial format start. The swim is easy to navigate with an out and back course which exits via a pontoon close to transition.
The 56-mile bike course takes you along a relatively flat route out into the Nottinghamshire countryside. There will be one short but significant climb between 15 miles and 20 miles to test your legs and put a smile on your face as you enjoy the descent on the other side. You will return to the Water Sports Centre via the medieval manor house, Holme Pierrepoint Hall, ready to cross the finishing line.
Aquabike is ideal for those who want to challenge themselves and enjoy the Outlaw experience, but either don’t want to or find themselves unable to run.
Minimum Age: Participants must be 18 by 31 December 2024
The swim is a very simple route. Starting at the boat house end of the lake you will swim straight down the lake past the Tower where you’ll then make a left turn to swim straight across the lake before making a 2nd left turn to swim straight back to exit the lake under the Swim Exit Gantry. It looks further than it is!
The bike course is flat and as fast as you want it to be. Keeping the lake on your left as you head to the top of the lake to taking 2 left bends, the 2nd a little tighter than the 1st, before heading straight back up the lake and taking the 2 left hand bends, again the 2nd being tighter than the 1st to complete your 1st of 4 laps.
Race pack collection and racking will be on Saturday. Race packs will not be posted and there is no option to rack on Sunday. Photo ID will be required for all Race Pack collection as well as presentation of a valid BTF licence or day licence.
Bikes must be stickered prior to racking and security wristbands must be worn at all times for access to Transition – including collecting your bike post race.
Start format will be time trial with swimmers being sent off the pontoons at short intervals. Waves and start times are allocated based on swim time, individuals will receive their personal start time prior to the event but should arrive early in case of running ahead of schedule. Wetsuits will be mandatory for the swim.
