SWIM COURSE

1.2 MILES

The swim takes place in the lake on Holkham Estate against the backdrop of the impressive Holkham Hall. A single out and back course makes it easy to navigate and there is just a short run to transition.

BIKE COURSE

56 MILES

Once out of the water, the undulating, single-loop bike course will take you on an unforgettable journey through some of the most beautiful countryside and coastal roads North Norfolk has to offer.

RUN COURSE

13.1 MILES

The run course will take you around the spectacular Holkham Estate where the stunning scenery will help combat the lactic acid building up in your legs as you power towards the finish line!

Camping

Looking for a prime location for race day accommodation? We’ve got you covered with an exclusive offer for a limited number of camping pitches available for 2019!

Camping at Holkham Hall is a very rare occurrence, this is one of only 2 events where this happens through the year. Not only will you be able to camp in a stunning location, but the entrance to the camp site will also be just 400m away from transition.

Who can camp?

You need to be 17 years old to be able to book camping at the event, although you are allowed to bring children under this age to camp with you.

How many people can I have in my group?

The site has been planned to enable each group to be able to have up to 6 people per pitch. This applies to tents, caravans and camper vans.

Are Pets allowed on the campsite?

We have taken the decision to NOT allow pets onto the campsite. They are most welcome within the grounds of the estate, however, not on the campsite. There will be no exceptions to this ruling.

Will the campsite be secure?

In order to gain access after you have initially checked in you and your party will need to be wearing the wristband which you will be issued on arrival. It is recommended that no valuables are left unattended on the campsite.

How do I access the campsite?

Enter the estate via the North Entrance, off the A149. Continue on the entrance road towards the main car park, ignoring the event car park on the right. The campsite is located on the left hand-side after you have passed the event car park.

What are the access times?

Friday 12noon – 9pm
Saturday 9am – 11pm (no access permitted between 11:45 – 12:15)
Sunday – exit only (no egress permitted between 11:30 – 15:30) until 11pm
Monday – final departure time is 12 noon

Entry Information

Do you have a waiting list?

Once the race is full, we do not have a waiting list and entries will not reopen once they are sold out. The only way to get into the Outlaw Half Nottingham once it is sold out is via our official charity Cancer Research UK (CR-UK).

How do I pay my next instalment?

Log into your account at https://myevents.active.com/osbevents and select ‘Purchase Add Ons’. Here you will be able to pay your next instalment(s).

I am unable to take part; can I transfer or sell my place to a friend?

No transfers are permitted, but if you are unable to take part, please contact us via the Contact Us page on the website to officially withdraw. We will then organise a refund for you, the amount of the refund depends on the date you inform us about your withdrawal. Contact the office on 01522 699950 if you wish to discuss this.

Can I change my relay team members?

Yes, you can, up until two weeks before the event, either via the online entry system or by contacting our office on 01522 69990.

 

Pre-Event Information

How will I receive my race pack?

Once you have entered you will receive confirmation via email, nothing will be posted to you – everything you require will collected at ‘Race Registration’. All the information you need will be available on our website nearer the event date.

We will keep in touch with you via email, with news and information about the event. Check that you entered your email address correctly by logging into your account on the online entry system. It’s important that you can receive our event emails as this is how we will let you know about course info and much more. Please note that if you have unsubscribed from our emails then you will need to visit our website regularly for event updates.

 

Event Day Information

Are there cut-off times for each section?

Yes, to ensure the smooth & safe organisation of the event, we have some specific cut-off times. All of the cut-off times are based on the start time of the last wave.

  • Swim Cut-Off – 1 Hour 10 Mins
  • Bike Start Cut-Off – 1 Hour 20 Mins
  • Bike Finish Cut-Off – 5 Hours 20 Mins
  • Run Start Cut-Off – 5 Hours 30 Mins
  • Run Lap 1 Cut-Off – 6 Hours 40 Mins
  • Run Lap 2 Cut-Off – 7 Hours 50 Mins
  • Run Finish – 9 Hours

You need to be ahead of the cut-off at all times, you cannot rely on catching time up later in the course, if you are behind you will be asked to return to the venue.

Can I be penalised/disqualified?

You can only receive a penalty or disqualification from a BTF Official. There are motorbike referees on the course. Penalties will be displayed in the foyer of the main venue building.

It is very important to know and understand the rules of the sport, eg:

  • Do not ride dangerously or draft
  • Do not urinate in public, there are plenty of toilets at all feed stations on the course
  • Wear clothing that covers your midriff, front zips should be done up at all times
  • Do not drop litter, use the bins provided

Will there be live tracking?

Yes, we will have an athlete tracker on the day. The link to the tracker will be available from this website in the immediate lead up to the race. We also have live chat and various social media updates.

 

Spectators

What can family do while I’m racing?

We produce a spectator guide for the Outlaw Half Holkham; this will be published in the immediate lead up to the event. There is a great atmosphere at the venue, and spectators will get to see you multiple times during the run as well as cheer the other competitors. Other

Are there separate Age Group waves & awards?

Athletes will be grouped together by age for the wave starts and prizes will be awarded from 18 – 24 onwards. There need to be at least 3 athletes in a category for prizes to be awarded.

Waves will likely start from 6.15am through to 7.00am with 15 minutes between waves. Expect there to be approximately 250-300 competitors per wave. There is a separate elite wave, which the fastest competitors can elect to go into based on their previous results.

Note: your age group is based on your age on 31/12/2019

What nutrition do you have on the course?

High5 is our on-course nutrition partner. On the two bike feed stations there are 750ml bottles of water or High5 Energy Drink. There will also be High5 Energy Gels available on the bike course as well as bananas.

Along the run course feed stations there will be 10 feed stations. Each feed station will have High5 Energy Drink, High5 Zero, flat cola and water available. There will also be High5 Energy Gels Aqua, Jaffa cakes, ready salted crisps and bananas.
