Outlaw Series Update 02.04.20 – Outlaw Half Cancellations
We have now confirmed the cancellation options for competitors scheduled to take part in Outlaw Half Nottingham (17 May), Outlaw Half Bowood (7 June) and Outlaw Half Holkham (28 June). These events are sadly cancelled due to the current global health crisis.
The two remaining events in the Outlaw Triathlon Series, Outlaw Nottingham (26 July) and Outlaw X (27 September) are still scheduled to go ahead, but it is now unlikely that Outlaw Nottingham take place in its advertised format. Outlaw Nottingham would usually cover a 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2mile run, but athletes’ ability to prepare is now heavily impacted.
Event Director, Iain Hamilton, said: “No one has ever known anything like this before, so all decision making is challenging at the moment. We’ve tried to balance responsibility to our customers with trying to ensure our business survives the next two years. We hope the majority of competitors will return next year, taking the race deferral option, but we recognise that won’t work for everyone.
“We really hope to be able to put races on later in the year, but there’s no way to predict what sort of situation we might face in two or three months’ time. We really want to put races on this year if it’s safe to do so, but at the moment it’s a case of asking people to sit tight for a few more weeks and staying fit and healthy.”
